Youth Farm Crew

The Ecosource Youth Farm Crew is a group of youth (ages 15-25) in Mississauga who support the gardening and stewardship activities at the Iceland Teaching Garden, as well as on-site environmental projects.

This team will also support other volunteer programs that take place at the garden as peer leaders. Ecosource staff will support your learning to be able to work in these programs and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the vision of what Iceland can be. This program is meant to be a place where you can learn, and don’t need all of the answers to participate! We are looking to build skills in Mississauga youth for food and climate action – but all you need to participate is curiosity and willingness to learn!

This program is for youth who are:

– interested in learning more about environmentalism in urban areas
– wanting to learn more about community involvement
– wanting to practice leadership skills in a supportive environment
– looking to learn about growing food – no prior experience necessary!

Fill out this form if you’d like to apply and Ecosource staff will reach out to you with more info.

In the Region of Peel, we live and work on the traditional territory and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We would like to acknowledge the first inhabitants of these lands and those who continue to live in these regions, including the Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, Ojibway/Chippewa and Métis peoples.

We occupy colonized First Nation territories and it is our responsibility to recognize our colonial histories, their present-day implications, and to work together to honour, protect and sustain Indigenous rights, and this land.
