Jane is a passionate educator who brings her environmental and outdoor education background and knowledge of child development and playwork to Ecosource.
A certified Forest and Nature Educator and interpretive guide, Jane believes in providing rich opportunities for children to deeply engage with the world around them through curiosity, inquiry, play and wonder.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from University of Guelph with a focus on children’s environments. Her past work includes landscape design, managing innovative place-making programs at Earth Day Canada, and environmental and land-based education at the Toronto Zoo and The Riverwood Conservancy. She is the founder of WildBright Play, an outdoor learning and play consultancy, and is on the steering committee for the Peel-Halton Nature Collaborative.
Jane believes that sustainability and environmental action are rooted in connection and relationships built with the natural world and each other.
