Eating Seasonally Through the Winter

January 28 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us in the Ecosource Teaching Kitchen for a cooking workshop highlighting how to use winter vegetables in your kitchen.

Cooking with local food is a great way to reduce your impact on the environment, support local farmers, and is often more flavourful and healthier for you! In the winter months it can sometimes be more difficult to find fresh, local produce, and easy to get stuck in the same recipes.

At this event, we’ll be cooking together with local, winter vegetables, and sharing a meal together. Through this workshop you will learn:

-What veggies are in season during Ontario winters

-How you can support local farmers and suppliers
-Basic cooking techniques to add variety to winter veggies
-Recipes to use a variety of winter produce

No prior cooking experience required – beginners welcome.

Suitable for ages 10+ (participants aged 10-13 must be accompanied by someone 16+)
