(905) 274-6222 ext. 314
Deven is passionate about rebuilding our connection to the natural world and cultivating healthy and equitable food systems.
Deven holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care from the Toronto Metropolitan University. Upon graduating, he was awakened to the inequality in our food system and the importance of growing one’s own food to build self and community resilience and has been growing and foraging food ever since. He believes in honoring ancestral traditions through farming, cooking, and wildcrafting. He is also passionate about edible mushrooms and strives to educate others on their power and importance.
Since first joining the Ecosource team in 2021 as Community Gardens Facilitator, he has supported the community gardens in growing fresh fruits and vegetables for local food banks and helped strengthen the local gardening community. He is constantly trying to learn new growing strategies and is excited to share and learn with the community.
