Seniors Gardening Program

The Seniors Gardening Program is an exciting new FREE program designed to encourage seniors and older adults of Peel Region to get involved in gardening activities to improve physical, social, and mental health.

Workshops cover a variety of areas such as planning a garden, pollination, container gardening, composting, and include physical activities and healthy snacks. Come and learn about gardening for your health while being active with old or new friends.

Workshops are offered free for seniors groups in the Region of Peel, on a pre-planned workshop basis. This program welcomes anyone with or without green thumbs to enhance their health while learning about growing food. In addition to a range of topics, programs can be tailored to various degrees of mobility.

Seniors Gardening sessions are offered year round at our community gardens during the growing season, or indoors at any time throughout the year.

If your senior or older adult group would enjoy this active learning opportunity contact us at getgrowing@ecosource.ca to book a session or call 905-274-6222 ext. 314.
