Community Events & Volunteer Days

Come and lend a hand (or pick up a shovel)!

We host community events, public workshops and volunteer drop-in days at all of our garden locations in Mississauga. All events are offered free of charge and are open to the community – you do not have to be a garden member to attend! These events are a great way to meet your neighbours, get outside for the day, and give back by helping the environment.

Please visit our event calendar to see a full list of our volunteer, drop-in, and community dates!

Spring Fling Garden Opening Days & Fall Cider Celebrations

Each spring our community gardens host opening day pot-luck events on Saturdays during the month of May. Come to share delicious treats and help us mulch pathways, plant food bank plots, and get ready for the season.  In the fall we celebrate the success of the season, plant garlic and share hot apple cider during our Cider Celebration days on Saturdays in September/October.

Volunteer Drop-In Days & Events

Garden drop-in days are informal times when community members are invited to stop by the garden to help with taking care of community food bank plots, habitat gardens, and learn something new! Check our event calendar to find out when our next drop in days are scheduled! Corporate and community groups that would like to organize a special drop in day are invited to contact us to discuss availability of customized volunteer events.
