Excavating the Garden

 Youth Rain Action Storyboard

Post 18: Excavating the Garden!

The soil at Sheridan Nurseries is very rich in clay, which makes digging the soil really hard. To make things easier when we install our rain garden, Fern Ridge Landscaping excavated the garden ahead of time. They worked really hard getting the space ready for us.

The first step was to measure and mark out the garden. They used spray paint on the grass to mark where they should dig.

Next they dug the ditch along the sidewalk.

Once the ditch was finished Fern Ridge got started on the rest of the garden. After about six hours of hard work, our hole was complete!
