TCR Workshop 7: Anishinaabek Traditional Food and Cooking

Join Mark Sault of New Credit First Nation and Chef Johl Whiteduck of Toronto’s NishDish for an exciting day to learn about Anishinaabek foods and cooking including methods for preparing traditional corn soup and wild rice. We will celebrate the day with a Traditional Feast!
Free transportation will be provided for youth from Peel Region. We will meet at the Ecosource Office at 6600 Falconer Drive at 8:15 a.m. to depart by 8:30 a.m. We will return to the Ecosource Office by 5:45 p.m.
If you need public transit tickets to get to the above meeting spot, please let us know in advance.
What to Bring: a notebook, camera (optional), a hat for the sun, weather-appropriate clothing, a backpack, a water bottle, and a rain jacket (just in case!).

This workshop is part of the summer Travelling the Credit Workshop Series that aims to engage Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in place-based learning about the Credit River through Indigenous story-telling.
