TCR Workshop 2: Watersheds, Restoration, and Climate Change

July 16, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Place: Terra Cotta Conservation Area (transportation to and from Ecosource office will be provided)

What exactly is a watershed? How will climate change affect the health of aquatic ecosystems in your area? To find out and take action in maintaining the health of the Credit River watershed, join us and York University lecturer, Tanya Chung-Tiam-Fook, in the second FREE workshop for youth (12-24 years old) of the Travelling the Credit series! As an environmental research and education specialist, Tanya will provide an in-depth introduction to watersheds, the implications of climate change, and the importance of restoration from Indigenous perspectives. Following the interactive storytelling session, attendees will contribute to a local restoration project to demonstrate environmental stewardship and see the impact of their actions first-hand.

This workshop is part of the summer Travelling the Credit Workshop Series that aims to engage Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in place-based learning about the Credit River through Indigenous story-telling. For more information please contact Sarah Bale at: sbale@ecosource.ca or (905) 274-6222 ext. 314.
