Post 12: Completing Our Designs!
By: Cynthia Acuna
This week was our last chance to complete our designs before presenting them. We all worked really hard together to input everyone’s ideas into our final design. By the end of the workshop we had just enough time to finish our design, and we are all really happy with it.
There was a lot to consider when creating the design. For example, we had to decide what shape of the garden would look nice, but also function effectively. We were also limited by a nearby gas line and the sidewalk. Another important consideration is the shade caused by the plants. We spent a long time thinking about where trees in the garden would provide shade to make sure our plants.
At the next workshop we will be sharing our design with a landscape architect who will give us some constructive feedback. After that we will have completed our final design, and it will be up to voters which garden is selected!
